ABSTRACT

Background and Objective: Comparable data are sparse for infl ammatory demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) in the Asia-Pacifi c region, and we aimed to establish a registry of patients with such diseases in the region. Methods: A network of neurologists in the Asia-Pacifi c Region was established to register patients with the targeted diseases. A standardized register form and relevant instructions in English, translated into the local language when needed, were prepared before the study start and used for data collection. Results: Eight study centres from different countries/areas participated in the study. In total, 857 patients with a validated diagnosis of different infl ammatory demyelinating diseases of the CNS were registered, 591 females and 266 males with a female-to-male ratio 2.2. The mean age at onset for all patients was 35.9 (SD: 12.9) years, signifi cantly younger (p = 0.010) for females (35.1 years, SD: 12.6 years) than for males (37.6 years, SD: 13.4 years). Conclusion: Patients with different infl ammatory demyelinating diseases of the CNS were in the fi rst time registered in a multi-centre study from eight countries/areas in the Asia-Pacifi c region. A platform and basis has been established for further study in the fi eld.

ABSTRACT

In 10 years recently, there is a big effort in the activities for investment of technological science, modernization of manufacture line and improvement the quality of the production. However, how does the effect of these activities that impact to each enterprise in particular and pharmacy in general still make a question without answer. So, researching and applying effectively evaluation methods in activities for investment for each enterprise in particular and pharmacy in general are necessary and useful matter

ABSTRACT

Free radical and antioxidant are very interesting field of research in other country as in Viet Nam. They are mentioned as a new pathogennic agent. Objectives: Determination of total antioxidant capacity in plasma. Methods: Lag-time assay was established to measure Total Antioxidants Capacity (TAC) in human plasma of healthy volunteers (6 males, 4 females, aged 29,8+-5,2). Results: - TAC was 513.3+/-79.64 mM Trolox equivalents. TAC was significantly higher in men (568.83+/-41.08 mM Trolox equivalents) in comparison with women (430.00+/-28.15 mM Trolox equivalents). A main reason was a higher concentration of uric acid in men compared with women (397.5+-79.86 mM versus 245+-33.16 mM). Conclusions: TAC in plasma after drinking vegetable juice for 1 week (547.8+-80.67 mM Trolox equivalents) was significantly higher in comparison with before (513.3+-79.64 mM Trolox equivalents).

ABSTRACT

The retail price of some domestic produced medicines had the tendency to increase in line with the increase rate of consumption commodities from 2001 to April 2004. Some kinds of medicines had surveyed as follow: antibiotics; vitamines; reliever; antifebrile; anti- inflamatory; digestion drug, and other medicines. The variation of price of those medicines at that time compared with the rate of consumption commodities, the variation of rate of USA and EURO. The price of consumption commodities increased rate of 3.61% in 2002 compared with 2001. the price increased rate of 3.03% compared with 2003 and during 3 months of 2004 the price of consumption commodities increased 5.40% compared with 2003

ABSTRACT

Tissue array is a technique by taking and transfering pieces of tissue from different block paraffin to new block. After cutting the authors get a slice with a lot of different samples. This technique saves time, chemistry and work. Using this technique to study 220 Gastric cancer samples. The expression of protein P53 in Gastric cancer tissue is 52.3%. In situ hybridization was used to find the EBERs (EBV Encoded small RNAs) of EBV in Gastric cancer tissue

ABSTRACT

From the year 2001 to April 2004, the price medicines had got the tendency to increase. From May 2001 to Dec. 2002 the price seemed to be stable or changed no much, from 2003 the price tended to in crease, especially in March and April, then increased continously in early 2004 with an average rate of 30% from March 2003 to March 2004 due to the variation of the value of currency, particularly the euro, the shortage of management of medicinal supply the monopolist of foreign firms, the asynchronized state of law

ABSTRACT

With scrap and easy to find material, the author had designed a tissue array machine which could make specimens as good as being made by imported machine. Method of making tissue array: making holes array on paraffin bar. Implement tissue array technique on holes array on paraffin bar. Cut, process and dye specimen normally. Because the tissue array technique gives result as accurate as the normal specimen dying technique does (the results of two method matched in 94% of specimens) it should apply the tissue array technique in studying
